Dear Vic, Happy Birthday Pal! Thanks for the pool lessions. I did win a few, or did I? I'm sure others have had the same question! Thanks for the great stories of your Canadian boyhood. The skiing and the skating (especially the hockey ones)! Also, heading through the snow to get to the little school house. Sometimes skating there too! Thank you for the 'VIC TUCKER' sense of humor!! You always put a smile on my face when I saw you! I knew there would be the usual Vic grin and a comment that would get a conversation flowing along! Most of all Vic, when I think of you a smile will always end up on my face! It won't take any effort at all!!! Love Ya Vic, Dan and Mary

My Dad George was Sam's brother. My memories of Uncle Sam go back to when Uncle Sam and Auntie Marge lived in Montreal. I was just a teenager and Bruce was very young. Uncle Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing and because Bruce was too young at the time Uncle Sam invited me to go with him on his fishing and hunting trips. I remember many nights lying in bed unable to sleep anxiously waiting for Uncle Sam to pick me up at 6 AM so that we could head off fishing or hunting. We used to go to the Crane's Fishing Derby. We were quite successful and would often win a prize. We would also go hunting. We never shot anything but always had lots of laughs and had a great time. Uncle Sam was very special to me and I tried to keep in touch with him and Auntie Marge over the years. My deepest sympathy to Auntie Marge, Bruce and Sandi. It's sad to think that Uncle Sam is no longer with us but I will always remember the good times we had so many years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Tucker are like a second set of parents to me. They always made their home an inviting and welcoming place to hang out. And we certainly took advantage of their generosity for many years! We played loud rock music, we ate their food, we drank warm beer straight from the end table and we played countless hours of pool, and some of us even broke a window or two. But the thing is with people like the Tuckers is that they treated us as if we were their own sons and they never made us feel like we were intruding on their lives. They fostered an environment of kindness and unselfishness. I think they truly wanted all of us to be lifelong friends, achieve success in whatever area we chose and become good men. I suspect that they, at times, had their doubts about the last part! The great thing was that we as young men had an exemplary role model in Mr. Tucker. He was always friendly, smart, hard working and generous. One incident perfectly exemplifies the kind of man that he was. When one of Bruce's idiot friends fixed his car incorrectly and it broke down south of San Clemente, Mr. Tucker rented a tow bar and spent most of a Saturday driving down to San Clemente and back towing said idiot and his car all the way back to Placentia. He was genuinely glad to help and expected nothing in return. He wouldn't even let me pay him back for the tow bar. The bottom line with Mr. Tucker was if you were a friend of Bruce's then you were a friend of his. I will never forget this good and kind man and the example that he set for all of us. Our heartfelt condolences to all of you.

When my parents decided to move from Anaheim to Placentia in 1968, I was in the 4th grade, and thought I'd never find new friends like the ones I was leaving behind. Who would have known this Tcuker family that came from s strange place called Canada would grow into a second family for me and a few other very lucky guys. Our friendships continue to this day, and part of the reason are the examples our parents set for us, and Vic (and Marg) were pretty awesome folks. It didn't mater when we showed up at the Tucker home, there was always a happiness that surrounded a remarkable and amazing group of friends of Bruce that really were (and are) treated like family. It was a little odd that this family wanted to talk about this strange sport played on ice skates called hockey when I knew about baseball and basketball, but that started a love of a game which is now my favorite sport. (go Ducks!) Vic allowed Bruce to turn the garage at times into a puck-shooting gallery on occasion, and I can remember the wall of black puck marks that was created when Bruce let me try out my hockey prowess, with never a complaint from Vic. We were always at one of our houses hanging out, and when we were at the Tucker home, we were treated as "second sons". Ah, the days of spam and pcikle sandwiches! When the pool table arrived at the Tucker home, we played endless games, usually won by Vic (or Bruce!). Afterwards, there was always a nice room temperature beer in the end table awaiting us, with great conversation, becasue when Vic asked how you were doing, he really wanted to know. He always had the time to listen to your answer, and I can never remember a time when he complained about anything. He was a treasure! My first day on skis was courtesy of Vic and Bruce - Vic spent the morning patiently teaching me the basics, and then Bruce decided I was ready for the top of the hill. I wasn't, but while Bruce was laughing hysterically at me, Vic got me down the hill. How and why he trusted four of us to later drive his van to Utah for a ski trip is beyond me, but he did, and we (and the van) survived. I can't count the number of hours spent with Vic (and Marg) but I wouldn't trade those days for anything. I could go on, but suffice it to say that he will be missed by all. Marg, Bruce and Sandi, our thoughts are with you, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.

My Grandmother was called Flo Brown (Cooper) and she was sister to Lily. My father Douglas was Lily's nephew and therefore Vic was my Father's cousin. I knew him as Uncle Vic and of course Auntie Marje from Canada. My father was born in Canada after my grandparents got itchy feet and traveled from Liverpool UK to relocate for a few years in Canada. Later my Father Douglas and his two brothers Sid and Arthur returned to Liverpool and I was eventually born (1958) I grew up knowing I was named the same as my Uncle and had a second cousin in the US called Bruce. In recent years Bruce and I have made contact but are yet to meet but Julie and myself we pleased to be able to meet Marje and Vic on their travels when they came to Europe and they could spend some time at our home here in Lichfield UK Our thoughts are with Marje, Bruce and Sandi at this very sad time. This is a time for reflection but also a time to celebrate the life of a family man who made a lasting contribution to our world

Most people knew him as Vic. I however was introduced to him when I was 7ish as Uncle Sam (Samuel was his middle name). Uncle sam really was my mom's Uncle, so he was my Great Uncle. The younger brother of my Grandfather Fred Tucker. Fred passed away when I was 1 year old. My grandmother passed when I was 11. Uncle Sam and Aunt Marje became a very important couple to me, especially because I never even met my Paternal Grandfather or Grandmother. To me these people were as close as I would ever get to having granparents. I feel very blessed to have had these people in my life. There is no doubt in my mind that Uncle Sam was one of the most intellegent people I've ever met. He looked at things with a very logical eye, and took emotion out of it. He would tell me what the right thing I should do, and it may not be the answer I really wanted, he was right in the end. He was a very gentle man. I think I saw him upset a couple of times, but that was really rare. He always said that he was "never better", or had "no complaints" because "no one will listen anyways." He beat me at every game of golf we had, and never rubbed it in. He would just give me a tip here and there. 4 out of 5 games he would beat me at playing pool, and I told Bruce, I think he let me win that 1 game so I wouldn't quit. The man had class, and style. He was always was well dressed. Took care of his family, home, cars, and his tools. He gave me a micrometer from his work about 10 years ago and I treasure that thing like gold. He is and will be truely missed by so many people that he touched. In his honor, I am very sad, but if you ask me I will always try and say "no complaints". Rick.

We were so very lucky to move into our first home next to the Tuckers. They became our family. When our son was born in 2002 he used to throw the ball over the fence into their backyard and say, "I need to go see Vic and Marje". It was a pleasure to have them as neighbors, friends and family. We enjoyed the holidays when they joined our family and it felt like having grandparents next door for my 11 year old son. Marje please know you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and I am so happy we had 10 years with you next door! Vic will be remembered fondly. We hope to see you soon! xoxo Andrea
