I was one of Bette's gymnastics students, and blessed to be counted among the many she had! Such a beautiful, vivacious person, always there for others. May the Benjamin family and all Bette's family and friends find peace at this time. She is one loved lady who has left quite a legacy and is greatly missed.

Dear Benjamin Family- Mrs Benjamin as I called her when she taught me at Wyeast Middle School, was my favorite teacher. She gave me hugs and smiles and encouraged me to be a good girl. I remember we would do folk dances and activities for PE and she made them so fun. Later, I would love to see Mrs. Benjamin at Rosauers when I was a grocery checker. Bette was such a sweet lady, I never saw her but what she had a smile on her face. I remember her mostly from High School, because I have only seen her once since that time and that was very brief! But, when we were in school she used cal me GITCHIE! Now, she is the only person in my life that ever called me Gitchie and because of that, I will always remember her fondly. I have lived away from the HR alley for most of my Adult life, so I have lost touch with most of the folks I grew up with and I am sorry for that! I send my condolonces to Rick and the family, I know it will be a gerat loss to you and yours. May Giod give you al the peace that passes understanding! And we can all look forward to seeing Bette again in the next life when we get to heaven!

Dear Rick, Bette and you fill my memories as far back as they go. From gymnastics in the 70s (which I still remember my routine and showed Bette nearly 30 years later) to my years with her at Pine Grove. Dear Rick, Vanessa, Cecily and Lindsay, I send you my deepest condolences in this very sad time. Bette was not only my favorite teacher at the time, but also a wonderful role model for me when I was in Junior High. I never thought of myself as athletic, but she taught me that I could set my own goals and achieve them. She helped me to earn confidence in who I was, and to believe in myself and my abilities. This was a profound message to a 13 year old girl. I was fortunate to have her as a neighbor and friend as I grew older, and I was blessed by her generous heart and kindness. She wasn't one to make small talk. She always cared deeply and wanted to talk about the things that matter in life: relationships, loved ones. She made the most of every day and valued everyone who crossed her path. She was an amazing and beautiful human being. I am so grateful that she was in my life. I send my love to all of you.
